The world has gone quiet. So has Beth's house.
Newly divorced and blindsided by her husband's infidelity during lockdown, Beth is learning what it means to be alone for the first time in her life.
Her best friend Ari is coming out of the pandemic quieter too, questioning everything she thought she knew about the life she built.
Two women. Two kinds of alone. One friendship that might just save them both.
Then a single social media post changes everything.
Beth is still reeling from the photo her ex posted on social media. The hurt is fresh, and the self-doubt is louder than ever. Feeling invisible and unattractive, she wonders if maybe she should just focus on being a mom and let everything else go. Ari has other ideas. She pushes Beth to remember who she is outside of the marriage that broke her. To see herself the way the people who love her see her. To consider that maybe the next chapter does not have to look anything like the last one.
Beth is slowly coming around to the idea. Maybe getting back out there is not the worst thing in the world. Maybe Ari is right.
Maybe.
Ari has a plan. Set up an online dating profile. Simple enough. Except nothing about starting over is simple and nothing about online dating is quite what it seems. Ari walks Beth through the unspoken rules of putting yourself out there in the modern world and Beth is not sure she signed up for any of this. Then comes the wardrobe. And then comes the kind of idea that only a best friend could come up with.
A photo shoot. A full glamorous worldly photo shoot. Around Ari's apartment complex.
